The Sangamon County Medical Society offers current Members and their staff access to affordable Dental and Vision insurance plans with Delta Dental of Illinois, featuring the largest network of dentists in the nation! ANY MEMBER, EMPLOYEE, or RETIREE can purchase a dental or vision plan, regardless if they have other coverage. Your employer does not have to contribute toward the premium. The plans are voluntary and offered as a benefit to members and their employees. The plan effective date is January 1st, 2019. Annual open enrollment will be held each year from December 1st to January 31st. Membership Benefits & Discounts • Community Physician Referral Service - more than 1,000 physician referrals to primary care practitioners and specialists are given each year to prospective patients. An on-line Physician List feature is now available on this website. The SCMS office receives calls daily from patients requesting help in finding a doctor. Referrals are made on a rotation basis. We provide patients with information about your educational and training background, board certification(s), whether you accept Medicaid or Medicare, along with information about patient records and other health-related topics. • Mailing Labels - provides you with mailing labels of SCMS members at no cost. • Member Advocacy Service - call us for information regarding legislative, regulatory, legal and practice-related issues, including how to withdraw from a case, how to close an office and retention of medical records. We work closely with the Illinois State Medical Society's Division of Member Advocacy and are available to contact them on your behalf. This division of ISMS offers members individualized, on-site assistance, direction and/or education for physicians and their office staff toward resolving current problems with health plan policies and reimbursement concerns, along with administrative hassles you experience in today's marketplace.
