SCMS Advertising Information Advertising Policies The Sangamon County Medical Society (SCMS) may accept a limited number of paid advertisements for products or services that are relevant to the field of medicine and may be of interest to members. The income from published advertisements is intended to help defray some of the cost of producing the publications or maintaining our Web site. Acceptance of advertisements is entirely within the discretion of the Executive Director and/or the SCMS Executive Committee. Factors considered in accepting advertising include, but are not limited to, limited space availability, the relevance of products or services to the membership, and the consistency of the advertisements with the ethical opinions or policies of the organization, those of the Illinois State Medical Society or those of the American Medical Association. Acceptance of advertising in the Sangamon County Medical Society's publications or on our Web site does not necessarily imply approval or endorsement of products or services advertised. Audience Established in 1899, SCMS is the professional, scientific organization of medical and osteopathic physician, resident, affiliate, alliance, and medical student members working in Springfield and Sangamon County. We are the local affiliate of the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) and the American Medical Association (AMA). Publication The Sangamon Medical News is the official publication of the Sangamon County Medical Society (SCMS) and is published quarterly. Web Ads Production Requirements • Banner ads - 775 pixels x 130 pixels • Tile ads (right side of page) - no more than 125 pixels wide x 125/150 pixels in height • Text limitations - logo (excludes SCMS member link ads), web address, business name & phone number • Ad copy format: pdf or jpg Classified Ads (print only) • Commercial, non-medical and medical ads from Members or Group Members: First 30 words - $35 each additional word - $0.25 • Commercial, non-medical and medical ads from Non-members: First 30 words - $50 each additional word - $0.30 Payment • Checks payable to: Sangamon County Medical Society or SCMS, or to Sangamon County Medical Society Alliance Foundation or SCMSA Foundation • Pre-payment required for first year, advertiser will be billed for subsequent years, unless other arrangements made.
