Janet R. Albers, M.D.
This Committee shall concern itself with matters related to public health, such as: 1. Hospitals & Voluntary Health Agencies; 2. Maternal or Infant Welfare; 3. Cancer; 4. Bioterrorism & Disaster; 5. Blood Bank; 6. Public Assistance with City & County Government; 7. County Health Department

Plans programs & activities relevant to the Medical Society: 1. Plans CME activities; 2. Plans Society programs (including annual golf tournament & social events); 3. Promotes health careers; 4. Disseminates health information
Governmental Affairs
Eric Bleyer, M.D.
This Committee shall work on all matters related to City, County, State & Federal Government. Maintains contacts with government officials and legislators on policy matters at all levels. Informs members about the potential effect of legislation concerning the medical profession & healthcare.

Annual review of strategic plan.
Membership
Craig A. Backs, M.D.
Donald R. Graham, M.D.
This Committee identifies new members in all categories (student, resident, transfer, first year, full-time) and develops programs and information for recruitment & retention of members.
Nominating
Leonard Giannone, M.D.
This Committee shall consist of the previous five available past Presidents and shall nominate at least one Active Member for each vacancy, but shall place no name upon the ballot until it has been determined that the nominee is eligible and willing to serve if elected.
Peer Review
Eric Bleyer, M.D.
This Committee shall evaluate the quality, quantity & cost of medical care rendered by any member Physician practicing in Sangamon and Menard Counties. The Peer Review Committee may resolve disputed issues between patients, third-party payors, and member Physicians in these areas. The Chairman may appoint other members representing other specialties or subspecialties to serve in ex-officio capacity on this Committee. The Peer Review Committee will function only in an advisory capacity and will not take disciplinary action.
